About Blue Product Development

Officially, Blue Product Development’s mission statement is
“To design outdoor products that people lust after.” 
Unofficially, all I want to do is design cool stuff, be outside and ride my bike.

In 1989, I graduated Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Design.  In my professional career, I’ve designed over 150 products and have 15 US and foreign patents.   Five of my helmets have been in the Tour de France.

I can take a product from the earliest concept sketches all the way through to manufacturing.  With each project comes new challenges and each time my knowledge base grows a bit more. The next time around I’m able to apply what I’ve learned and make the next project that much better.

I’ve got all the usual ID skills—sketching, model making, Blender, Photoshop, Illustrator, Rhino3D, and more. I’ve also got the ability to solve mechanical design problems, and have a fully equipped workshop stocked with lots of tools—many that are specific to helmet design and prototyping and some that I’ve made myself.
